The Conductive Learning Center (CLC) serves children from birth to age 26 with motor disorders related to complications of premature birth, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, or brain injury. For these children with motor disorders, even the smallest tasks – eating, buttoning a shirt, sitting in a chair – can be monumental. The CLC can change that utilizing the conductive education (CE) premise that movement and coordination can be learned. These children approach each and every day in the same way that Team CLC will prepare for the Amway River Bank Run; by setting goals, training and strengthening their bodies to be the best they can be. Children are taught to see themselves as active and self-reliant participants in the world.
Runners for Team CLC will help change the lives of children by fundraising for our "Champion a Child" scholarship fund to provide opportunities for them to attend the program. Team CLC also has many events and perks including:
- Meeting the families and children and seeing how their lives have been transformed
- Team CLC t-shirt
- Pre-race pasta dinner and celebration
- Race day swag, and more!
